10/15/10 7:00am - 5:00pm Water Temperature: 67 degrees
For those of you that are interested in my fishing trips, this trip isn't worth talking about but I will let you know what happened. We arrived at the lake at 7am. We fished topwater for about 1 hr. We went down the lake and fished out in the main channel for about 3.5 hrs. We left the main channel and went farther down the lake to a creek channel with lots of standing timber and we finally got the skunk off our back with myself and David catching 1 apiece. They hadn't grown to the worthiness of a picture just yet, maybe in about 4 or 5 years, LOL. We left the creek channel and went back up the lake and when we got back to where we were fishing in the main channel the wind really picked up and the water was really choppy. It was so choppy My Senko rod was thrown off the boat and one of my carolina rig rods was hanging off the edge but David was able to get to it in time. When we started to leave we spotted a bald eagle flying overhead, about the only good thing about the trip besides not getting skunked. As we were going across the main body of the lake heading back to the boat landing, we heard a knocking sound at the back of the boat. When we got back to the landing, while David was getting the truck, I checked to see what the noise might have been . The water was so rough going across the main part of the lake that it broke my transducer off and threw into the boat. Also, never decide to leave the lake on a Friday at 5pm. We ran into some of the worst traffic you ever seen. I had to take two different detours just to get back home. It would have been nice if we had our guns with us on one of the detours, we would have felt alot safer anyway.
