10/20/12 6am - 11:45am Fish Caught - 0 Water Temp - 64 Got to the lake and no one was there. The scenery was really beautiful today with the fall leaves. Only two other boaters came. I talked to one guy (pictured below) before he left and he said he caught three using a chatterbait.
______________________________________________ 6/17/12 6am - 12pm Fish Caught - 5 Water Temp - 74 This turned out to be a really good father's day from the beginning. Cindy went with me and it seems like every time she goes I usually catch several fish. It was after 9:30 before we seen another boat on the water. My first fish of the day was a yellow perch. The rest were all bass, no trophies but I was satisfied just to be catching some fish.
5/19/12 5pm - 8:15pm Fish Caught: 10 Water Temp. 75 Tried a little Crappie fishing using a Creme Lil' Fishie in the blue and white pattern. I fished the upper end of the lake on the left side and was able to catch 8 Crappie, 1 yellow perch and 1 bass.
5/11/12 6am - 1:30pm Fish Caught 15 Water Temp. 70 Started fishing the upper end of the lake. I wasn't having any luck throwing a topwater lure or throwing a swimbait so I tied on a 4" Zoom watermelon seed jig and I caught 15. It didn't really seem to matter where I was fishing, everywhere I went I was able to catch at least one. All the fish must have been male because non of them were of any size.
3/29/12 6:60pm - 10:30pm Fish Caught: 16 Water Temp. 68 Started off bass fishing and caught one bass using a watermelon w/red flake senko. I caught one bass before it got dark then I started crappie fishing down near the dam. I anchored down in one spot and managed to catch 15 Crappie using live minnows.
3/22/12 8:30am - 1:30pm Fish Caught: 1 Water Temp: 67 Invited my good friend Greg to go with me today and he said he really enjoyed it. Only one fish was caught and I wish it could had been caught by him but maybe another day. Talked to one guy that was leaving when we were and they kept their bass but they didn't want them. Keeping fish that you really don't want really hurts a lake. When Lake Hunt was leased out it was a catch and release lake only but now that Reidsville is looking after it you are allowed to keep your catch. I can already see a difference in the lake and it has only been one year. Please if you don't want the fish then put them back so someone else can enjoy catching them another day.
2/24/12 9:15am - 12:30pm Fish Caught: 1 Water Temp: 47 When I went fishing last Saturday I picked up the largest number of fish located in one area of the lake and I just knew they had to be Crappie. Today the fish were schooled up in several places on the lake. The only place I was picking up fish were in the 22 - 25' depth range. Mike and myself put our lines out and we weren't getting any bites but we were obviously over a school of fish. We tried three different locations and all we managed to catch was one Crappie and one fish got off. I guess it's still a little early before the Crappie will really start biting.
